Quinceañera invitation wording: samples in English and Spanish

Timeline · 6 min read · Updated November 2, 2026

A quinceañera invitation names her, the people inviting, the Mass and the party with their times and addresses, and a date to reply by. Send it about two months before her quince, with the reply date about three weeks before.

What should a quinceañera invitation say?

It should say who's celebrating, who's inviting, where and when, and how to reply. Guests read the card once and keep it for the addresses, so the details matter more than the verse.

  • Her full name, the way she wants it printed.
  • Who's inviting: her parents, and her padrinos de honor if you're listing them.
  • That it's her fifteenth birthday, or her XV años.
  • The day and the date.
  • The Mass time, the church's name and its address.
  • The party time, the hall's name and its address.
  • A date to reply by, and how to reply.
  • A dress code, if you have one.

Spell out the full street address for both places. Many guests will type it straight into their phone's map on the day.

How do you word a quinceañera invitation in English?

Start with the people inviting, then her name, then the event. Pick a sample that sounds like your family and change the names.

  • Formal: Together with her parents, Ana and Luis Martínez, Valeria Sofía Martínez requests the honor of your presence at a Mass of thanksgiving and celebration of her fifteenth birthday.
  • With padrinos: Ana and Luis Martínez, with the padrinos de honor Marta and Jorge Ruiz, invite you to celebrate the quinceañera of their daughter, Valeria Sofía.
  • From her: With God's blessing and the love of my parents, I invite you to celebrate my fifteenth birthday with me. Valeria Sofía Martínez.
  • Simple: Please join us for Valeria's quinceañera, with a Mass and then dinner and dancing at the hall.
  • Party only: You're invited to dinner and dancing to celebrate Valeria's fifteenth birthday.

Read the card out loud before you print it. Check every name with the person it belongs to, including accents, and check both addresses on a map.

How do you word a quinceañera invitation in Spanish?

Spanish invitations often open with a line of thanks to God and to her parents. These samples speak to one guest. For a family, change "invitarte" to "invitarlos".

Should the invitation be in English, Spanish or both?

Write it in the language your guests read. Many families print a bilingual card, with English on one side and Spanish on the other.

A bilingual card keeps one design and one print order. If most of the family reads only one language, two small print runs can work better, one in each language. Put the same addresses and the same reply date on both versions.

Should you list the padrinos on the invitation?

Many families list the padrinos de honor on the invitation and the rest in the program. A long list of padrinos can crowd a small card.

Ask each padrino how they'd like their name printed before the card goes to print. The quinceañera padrinos list has every common padrino and what each one gives.

When should you send quinceañera invitations?

Send them about two months before her quince. Put a reply-by date about three weeks before the party, so you have time to give the hall a headcount about two weeks out.

The quinceañera planning checklist puts the invitations at two months out and the headcount call to the hall at two weeks out. Guests who travel need more notice, so call or text them with the date first.

How do you word the RSVP and the dress code?

Ask for a yes or no by a date, and ask how many people are coming. Some guests go to the Mass, the party or both, so ask about each one if your counts differ.

  • RSVP: Please let us know by the reply date if you can join us, and how many in your family will come.
  • RSVP for both events: Please tell us if you'll join us at the Mass, at the party, or at both.
  • Seats: We've saved two seats in your honor.
  • Adults only: We love your little ones, and this celebration is for adults.
  • Dress code: Formal attire. Or: Dress for dancing.

The guest list in the free Su Quince planner keeps each guest's RSVP, with one count for the Mass and one for the party. You can also print the address of her own page, like suquince.com/valeria, on the card.

How much do quinceañera invitations cost?

Printed invitations for 175 guests typically cost about $180 to $240 in Su Quince's 2026 data, with a low of $110 and a high of $425. Digital invitations typically cost about $90 to $110.

Thank-you cards typically cost another $90 to $120. Some families ask a padrino to pay for the invitations. The quinceañera cost guide has the rest of the budget.
