A photographer and a videographer for six hours each cost a family about $2,900 at typical national prices, and about $3,700 on average across the 12 cities I priced. A photographer alone is about $1,500 for six hours, about $250 an hour.

How much do quinceañera photography and video cost?

A photographer and a videographer for six hours each cost a family about $2,900 at typical national prices in Su Quince's price data, and about $3,700 on average across the 12 cities I priced. A photographer alone runs about $1,500 for six hours, or about $250 an hour. A videographer runs about $1,400.

Photo and video are priced by the hour, not by the guest count. A quince for 175 guests or for 100 needs the same six hours of coverage. I like that about this line, because it's one of the few that doesn't grow with your list.

Here's where it sits in the whole budget. In a typical $25,100 national quince for 175 guests, photo and video is about $2,900 of the total. Every 25 more guests adds about $1,100 to that total, mostly in food and cake, and nothing to the photographer.

I looked up what photographers and videographers in 12 cities post on their own pages and listings, and I checked every price in November 2026. Every number is the full amount a family pays, with sales tax where the state charges it. Texas taxes photography as a service, for example, so the Texas numbers include it.

What do photo and video cost in each city?

This is a photographer plus a videographer, six hours each, at each city's low, typical and high price.

CityLowTypicalHigh
Austin$1,900$3,400$4,600
Chicago$2,100$3,800$5,500
Dallas-Fort Worth$2,900$4,050$5,150
Denver$3,750$5,700$8,200
El Paso$1,625$2,700$4,000
Houston$2,050$3,200$4,200
Inland Empire$1,600$3,500$6,250
Las Vegas$2,250$4,250$6,000
Los Angeles$1,600$2,800$3,900
Phoenix$2,550$3,900$6,000
Rio Grande Valley (video is thin)$2,650$3,050$3,800
San Antonio$1,950$4,150$6,400
United States$1,200$2,900$6,500

Denver runs highest because most of the studios that post prices there are wedding studios. Los Angeles has the lowest typical price because its videographers list starting prices near $1,000. In the Rio Grande Valley I found only two videographers who post prices, so that line is thin.

I'd be careful with every low number. The lowest price usually buys fewer hours, fewer edited photos or a short highlight film in place of the full video. Find out exactly what you're buying before you compare.

What does a photographer or videographer cost by the hour?

For photographers and videographers pricing their own work, and for families comparing hourly quotes, here's each city's typical price for six hours, and the photographer's price per hour.

San Antonio$1,800$2,350About $300

A few studios post hourly rates. Studios3Sixty, a photo and video studio in Dallas, posts $200 to $300 an hour for photography at peak and $300 to $400 for video. With Texas tax, that's about $215 to $325 and $325 to $435. Tecla Productions, a video studio in Houston, lists video at about $270 an hour with tax.

Is a package or an hourly rate better?

A package is easier to compare when it names the hours and what you get. These are three quince packages I found, with tax:

  • Visto Events, Houston, Essential: a photographer and a videographer for 5 hours, a 1-hour session before the quince, edited photos, a documentary video and a 20x24 framed photo, about $2,165.
  • New Dawn Photo & Video, Dallas area, Quartz: 4 hours, 500 to 700 photos, about an hour of event video, a 2-hour session before the quince, framed portraits and a USB, $2,999 with tax included.
  • Houston Dream Day Photography, Elegance: a photographer and a videographer for 8 hours, a video up to 8 minutes long, a 20-page album, drone shots, an online gallery and a USB, about $3,030.

An hourly rate is better when you only need part of the day, for example the Mass and the first hour of the party. I'd ask what a short booking costs, because some studios have a minimum.

What's usually included?

  • Hours of coverage. I compared everything at six hours. If the Mass and the party are far apart, or you want the end of the night, ask what eight hours costs.
  • Edited photos. Packages I found promise from 300 to more than 1,000. Gallery Weddings, a photo studio in the Houston area, lists 300 to 500 for six hours with two photographers.
  • A session before the quince. Many quince packages include a 1- or 2-hour photo session in her dress on another day.
  • The video. A 3- to 5-minute highlight film and a longer edit of the whole night are two different things. Ask which one you're getting, and how long each one runs.
  • Prints and albums. A framed print or a 20- to 30-page album shows up in the bigger packages.
  • Delivery. An online gallery, a USB or both. Ask when you'll get them.

A photo booth or a video guestbook is its own line. In a video guestbook, guests record short messages for her. In the Houston area, Casa Ochoa Events, which rents photo booths and video guestbooks, runs one for about $300 to $435 with tax for four hours.

How should a photographer or videographer price a quince?

My advice to photographers and videographers: post your price for a full quince day, and say how many hours it covers. Families compare quotes side by side, and a price with no hours on it is hard to compare.

Name the number of edited photos, the length of the video and the delivery date, and say whether tax is included. Then check your price against your city's typical in the tables above. If you're far under it, make sure your hours and your delivery time are worth what you're charging.

The mistake I see most

Comparing two quotes that don't cover the same hours. Here are two Houston studios from my research. Wedding Avenue's photographer runs about $1,030 for five hours. B&A Photography runs about $2,055 for six hours with two photographers. Those aren't the same job, and the shorter booking may end before the last doll.

Write each quote down with its hours, photo count and video length, along with the deposit and when the balance is due. That way you're comparing the same things, and nothing comes due by surprise.

Rosa's tip: this week, send three studios the same three questions in one message: how many hours, how many edited photos, and how long the video is and when you get it. Ask once, in writing. Their answers line up in one table, and the right one usually stands out.

How Su Quince helps

  • The free budget starts your photo and video line at the typical price for your ZIP code, and you swap in each quote as it comes in.
  • The free vendor list keeps each studio's quote, deposit and balance, linked to its budget line.
  • A padrino can take photo and video off your total from their own link, and the budget updates when they say yes.
