A quince in San Antonio for 150 guests comes to about $22,700 all in at typical prices, about $1,100 under the national number of about $23,800. The eight big things make up about $17,100 of that.
How much does a quinceañera cost in San Antonio?
A quince in San Antonio for 150 guests comes to about $22,700 all in at typical prices. The eight big things, which are the hall, food, her dress, the DJ, photo and video, the cake, decorations and the Mass, make up about $17,100 of that. The rest is the smaller stuff that adds up fast: the choreographer, invitations, hair and makeup, favors, the limo and the padrino gifts like her tiara and Bible.
That's about $1,100 under the national number. Across the US, the same quince runs about $23,800 in Su Quince's price data. Food is the biggest line in San Antonio, but at about $4,500 for 150 guests it still costs less than the national $6,000, and photo and video cost a little less too. The hall costs about what it does nationally. The Mass, the cake and the DJ cost a bit more in San Antonio.
I didn't want to guess, so I looked up what San Antonio businesses actually charge. I used the prices halls, caterers, DJs, photographers, bakeries, decorators and parishes post on their own pages and listings, and I checked every one in November 2026. For the smaller extras I used Su Quince's price data for San Antonio. The one price I couldn't find here was her dress, and I explain my estimate below. Every source is linked at the bottom.
| Part | Low | Typical | High |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hall | $1,500 | $3,500 | $5,125 |
| Food for 150 (about $24 to $38 a guest) | $3,600 | $4,500 | $5,700 |
| Her dress (estimate) | $800 | $1,475 | $2,475 |
| DJ | $699 | $1,400 | $2,666 |
| Photo and video | $1,700 | $2,600 | $3,390 |
| Cake (about $2 to $8 a slice) | $300 | $825 | $1,200 |
| Decorations | $1,020 | $2,000 | $2,500 |
| Mass (church fees) | $400 | $800 | $1,525 |
| Total | $10,000 | $17,100 | $24,600 |
Why is the range so wide?
If you picked the lowest price I found for each of the eight big things, you'd be around $10,000. The top of the market is about $24,600. But be careful with the low end. The $400 Mass is one parish's price for its own parishioners, and everyone else pays $800 there. The cheapest DJ package is $699 for five hours, so ask what it leaves out. A low hall price that leaves out the tables, the linens or the cleanup fee isn't really low. Before you compare prices, find out exactly what you're buying.
What does each part cost in San Antonio?
- Hall: halls cost less here than in Houston or Dallas. A South Side event center posts packages up to $1,500 for its 150 guests, a Far South Side venue lists $3,500 for a Friday or Sunday, and a downtown ballroom starts at $5,000 plus cleaning.
- Food: buffets run about $24 to $38 a guest. Three San Antonio caterers post an average of $30 a guest, and one restaurant chain adds a required 20% tip.
- Her dress: this one is my estimate, not a San Antonio price. I couldn't find a single San Antonio shop that posts its gown prices, so I used a Houston quince shop's posted range of $798 to $2,478. Take my number as a starting point, and ask when you go in.
- DJ: five-hour packages start at $699. The middle of the 17 packages I found is about $1,400.
- Photo and video: four-hour packages with both start near $1,700, and most land around $2,600.
- Cake: starting rates run $2 to $8 a slice. Fondant and tall quince designs cost more.
- Decorations: a balloon backdrop plus simple centerpieces for 19 tables runs about $1,020. A full quince setup from one rental company runs $1,500 to $2,500.
- Mass: one Far Southeast parish asks $400 for parishioners and $800 for everyone else. A university chapel charges $1,300 plus a $225 security fee, and the family brings the priest.
Can a hall package cost less?
Sometimes. If this were my family, I'd ask for package prices, but I wouldn't count on them saving money here. A few San Antonio halls post all-in prices, and most of those cover only the hall and food, so ask what's left out.
- Prestige Reception Hall: packages from $8,950 with the hall and on-site catering.
- Grand Monarch Venue: $11,500 to $17,200 on a Saturday for 80 to 150 guests, with catering, a bar, setup and cleanup.
- The Villa Coronado: from $11,000, priced for at least 200 guests.
At typical San Antonio prices, the hall and food on their own come to about $8,000 for 150 guests, so a package isn't automatically the cheaper way. Same rule here: read exactly what's in a package before you sign.
What isn't in the $17,100?
- The smaller extras, about $5,600 at typical San Antonio prices: the choreographer (about $850), mariachi or other live music (about $750), the limo (about $750), a photo booth, favors, hair and makeup, invitations, her shoes, and the padrino gifts like the tiara, the last doll and her Bible and rosary (about $420 together).
- Tax and service charges on the food and the hall. One restaurant chain I found adds a required 20% tip to its catering.
- The court's outfits. Each dama's and chambelán's family usually pays for their own, about $2,200 for a court of 14.
The mistake I see most
Losing track. One caterer's price includes the tip and the next one doesn't, a deposit comes due before you remember it, or a padrino offers to cover the cake and nobody writes it down. A $23.95 fajita buffet with a required 20% tip is really about $28.75 a guest, close to the $30 buffet down the street. The families who don't get surprised are the ones who keep every quote, deposit and due date in one place and always know where their total stands.
Rosa's tip: get the hall's start and end time in writing before you pay a deposit. One downtown ballroom I found only books from 3 PM to 9 PM, which is too short for the Mass, dinner and the dance.
